Agnola Hendrickson is a Playwright, Writer and Actor who is committed to excellence in whatever she does. Agnola was born in beautiful Queen City Nevis, West Indies, the birth place of Alexander Hamilton. In High School, English was her favorite subject and writing her passion. It is no surprises therefore, that when her classmates desired to become nurses, doctors, lawyers and the usual career choices, her dream was to become a writer and an actor. It was her English teacher at GSS (Gingerland Secondary School), who recognized her writing ability and encouraged her to pursue it as a career choice. Her goal of becoming a writer and actor, seemed unattainable, since at that time, opportunities for actors and writers were non-existent. Nonetheless, Agnola was determined to one day travel to New York City to achieve this goal.
Through a series of ordained circumstances, she relocated to America with that goal in mind. New York City, she soon discovered, was nothing like she saw on television. With limited funds to work with, Agnola was able to attend acting classes at American Academy of Dramatic Arts for a single semester. The extent of her theatrical training and experience, was at a local theatre company in Brooklyn, where she acted in plays and musicals for many years.
Agnola is an honorary graduate of City University of New York, Brooklyn College, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Creative Writing and a Minor in Sociology. She has seen her dream realized, and is now the proud owner of Agnola Productions. She believes that, “The Arts” is one of the best ways of uniting people from all walks of life. Agnola has more than 20 years of acting experience and looks forward to teaching the next generation. She is influenced and inspired by author Toni Morrison, and playwrights, August Wilson and Tyler Perry.
